“We wanted to use our creativity for a good cause during the holidays, and make the maximum impact,” says Eve Ashworth, Account Director at the Poughkeepsie based creative ad agency.

The result was a campaign called #HVThankful. Ashworth Creative has built a list of sponsors, acquired billboards, and created social media pages for #HVThankful, while donating all production costs. In 2014, the first year of #HVThankful, Ashworth Creative raised $1500 for charity.

“This year, we’ve already raised $2,000, with more sponsors coming on board,” said Ashworth. “Plus this year we have radio spots to increase awareness.”

Each post that has the phrase #HVThankful within it is entered into the drawing, and on Jan. 5, one participant will be randomly selected. The winner will get to choose their favorite Hudson Valley charity to receive a donating of at least $2,000, in their name. W

“Entries just need to carry the #HVThankful, with the hashtag. So everyone can share in the thankfulness,” Ashworth added. Saying that the entries could be anything from places or views around the Hudson Valley their favorite team, local farmers, someone who is especially brave.

People can enter the contest by visiting www.hvthankful.com and following any of the linked #HVThankful accounts on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram and then posting what they are thankful for in the Hudson Valley with the hashtag #HVThankful.
